The certified articles fulfil requirements of Annex XVII of REACH (including the use of azo colourants, nickel release, etc.), the American requirement regarding total content of lead in children’s articles (CPSIA; with the exception of accessories made from glass) and to the Chinese standard GB 18401:2010 (labelling requirements were not verified). Compliance shall be verified by audit.

It is an environmental product certification, which makes recognizable the materials and products obtained from the exploitation of plastic waste, and whose specification is recognized by Accredia: this means that it has all the characteristics of objectivity, accessibility, impartiality and independence of labels that can be expressly requested by contracting entities (art. 69 of the Procurement Code, Legislative Decree. 50/2016); for the same reason it is expressly mentioned by the decrees stating the Minimum Environmental Criteria (CAM) for Green Public Procurement as a means of verifying the compliance of the recycled plastic content. It focuses on the guarantees offered by the technical standards of the sector UNI UNIPLAST 10667 and the verifications carried out by accredited certification bodies. It applies the concept of "traceability" of recycled materials and calculates the content in accordance with UNI EN ISO 14021. It makes more visible and easier to identify the plastic goods for recycling that are destined to public administrations and/or companies with prevailing public capital, as well as to large-scale retail trade (Large Distribution Organization) and to private citizens. The activities for obtaining the PSV brand are carried out by the certification bodies partners of IPPR, accredited by Accredia: IIP-Istituto Italiano dei Plastici, Kiwa Cermet Italia SpA and SGS.
